We haven't really started potty training in any formal sense of the word, but we have a video and a couple of books that we look at every now and then. We also have had a potty chair for a long time and we just pulled it out again so that Aiden could get used to it and to see if he had any interest in using it at all.
Well, for the past week or so he has enjoyed sitting on his potty for fun in the evening before his bath. He does of course sit on it backwards and pretend that it is some kind of horse that he is riding...but ya know, whatever works!!!
The past couple of weeks he has also begun to tell us when he is pooping or has already pooped, so this morning when he told me he "had poop" I checked his diaper to find nothing in it. So I asked if he wanted to go poop in his potty and we quickly went into the bathroom to sit on the potty.
He's not exactly the kind of kid to sit in one spot for a terribly long time, so sitting and waiting for "things to happen" was a bit of a challenge, but after several times of sitting back down on the potty to go poo poo he did finally poop (it was only a small amount...but heck ya gotta celebrate the little things in life!!).
Most likely we'll still go at a very slow pace....set by mr. aiden himself with this whole potty training thing. It may be another 6 months before it happens again or it may be in another couple of hours.
He's getting to be such a big boy!
